My name is Nick and I am a graphic artist and music junkie who lives in East Boston, one T-stop away from downtown. I grew up in upstate New York, passed through Rochester Institute of Technology to get my learn on, and moved out here in 2004. Since relocating I’ve worked full time doing digital imaging and prepress work at Mullen in Boston. Been going to dance music based events since the day I moved out here and am interested in spreading the word online of both the work of myself and my friends. I’ve DJ’d since 2001 (but hasn’t everyone though, haha) and even though I originally cut my teeth in drum and bass music, my vinyl and beatport diet also consists of a great deal of house, garage, hip hop, funk, baltimore club, and pretty much ANY music that came out from 1992-1994. Started teaching myself audio production in 2007, now I have to teach myself to get AWAY from Ableton, my Roland jp8000 and my Akai s950 =)
I’ve gone under the name Nickdawg since 2004 (my friends called me that during college so it just sort of stuck), and prior to that used Kritikal as my alias. I’ve also began using the moniker “Effective Resolution” for my production work as well as house/techno sets as that’s little more “serious” sounding haha.
Interesting facts about me: I never watched a single game of sports until I moved out here, now I bore people to tears talking fantasy football stats every single monday morning between the months of September and December. I’m still a big fan of cheap beer (PBR and Keystone FTW!), I pretty much watch only two stations on TV (Food Network and Discovery), and I’m probably the last person in the world who doesn’t own a Facebook account (and never will!) ahem….so I finally ate my own words and signed up for that too ;)
Hope you enjoy Beantown Boogiedown. Appreciate the support it’s gotten over the past year. If you have any events, mixes, or tunes you want me to throw up on here please do not hesitate to contact me. Email = nminieri@yahoo.com
BTW, all my DJ mixes are in one spot on my page. All different genres too. Enjoy.
