Featured Mixes: Mizeyesis- Mish Mash Vol. 1 (December 2009 Dubstep)

I am still admittedly clueless on a great deal of the music that vegetates the wide open landscape of dubstep. However, I’m always curious to scope out new beats, and if you’re in the mood for some organic vocal-laced dubstep check out this mix by Mizeyesis from Connecticut! The mix builds nicely from the Cays Crays remix by Digital Mystiks (hammered by the likes of Skream and Mala for years) all the way up to a frienzied Congo Natty track and Skream’s awesome “Burning Up”, both tunes that incorporate the amens of drum and bass at a (much more danceable) 150 bpm.
Highlights include the 2nd track by Debruit, a nice hip hop piece with pads up the ying yang, and Ultrablack’s “Musical Rush” which mangles high pitched 8-bit synths and twisted basses everywhere.
Soundcloud link below. Definitely add her if you have an account there, as she will be adding more mixes in her Mish Mash series over the course of 2010 (probably across a variety of genres too!)
Mizeyesis Pres: Mish Mash Vol1: Dubstep - Dec 2009 by mizeyesis
This is part 1 of a series of mixes I’ll be doing into the new year (2010), each reflecting a sound that I love. This first part is a very dubbed out and chilled dubstep mix, with a little sex appeal and a little filth! Overall a lovely mix to relax to. Hope you will enjoy it as much as I enjoyed putting it together! Bless!
