Bassic presents Appleblim @ Goodlife, 5.27.09

Following Bassic's tradition of hosting quality dubstep artists to showcase their forthcoming music in Boston once a month, their next installment is going to feature one of the most distinct producers within that genre of music: Appleblim. His sound can be characterized as a combination of minimal techno, deep house, and dubstep, each evenly balanced in regards to samples, composition, and overall feeling. The sound is definitely very moody and although not overly complex, is still loaded with tons of subtleties. Appleblim founded the successful Skull Disco record label, and has since gone on to produce a variety of songs with label mate Peverelist, give guest speeches at Red Bull's Music Academy, and release mix CD's.

Appleblim's newest record label, Apple Pips, is very interesting as it is geared almost entirely towards minimal techno as opposed to dubstep, and has showcased the work of established producers within that discipline, including T++ and Brandon Moeller. It is definitely interesting seeing artists from outside dubstep being brought in to collaborate with these guys, hopefully this will help expose dubstep DJ's and fans to talent outside of the genre as well as vice versa.

Dubwar hosted Appleblim this past weekend and from what I heard it was quite a show! If you're a dubstep or techno fan then do not miss the Boston installment next week.

Check out a few of Appleblim's tracks via Amazon's shop below, on his imprint Skull Disco.

Boston's own Tanner Ross will be opening! Tanner has been spinning tech house around the area for years and has come into his own as a respected producer over the course of the past few years, releasing tracks on Airdrop and Dirtybird. He even had a remix of Claude Von Stroke's classic "Who's Afraid of Detroit" released on his imprint! My personal favorite from him was his EP on very popular UK imprint Freerange from last year. Check out one of his mixes from 2008 here:

1. Audion - Freds Bells
2. Alex Smoke - Rotwag
3. Guillaume and the Coutu Dumonts - Mederico
4. Trentemoller - Kink
5. Martin Buttrich - Hunted
6. 3 Channels - Getting Kinda Hectic
7. Shlomi Aber - Sekur
8. Roman Flugel presents Soylent Green - La Forza Del Destino (Radio Slave Remix)
9. Marshall Jefferson & Nooseheads - Mushrooms (Justin Martin Mix)
10. Lusine - The Stop (Robag Wruhme Remix)
11. Samuel L Session - Smoke Stack
12. Todd Bodine - The Secret Edge
13. Voodeux - The Curse

Bassic resident and co-founder C-Dubs also warming things up so be sure to get there early!

That is cool that people are able to get the credit loans and this opens new chances.
