Backyard: Zebbler Encanti Experience's "Conversations" Remix & EOTO Tour

In an era where competition is fierce and available gigs are scarce, musicians are doing everything they can to not just optimize their sound, but also the performance of it in a live setting. Enter Zebbler Encanti Experience. This duo is no joke: Encanti is a serious producer who fuses expressive vocals, glitch edits, and poly-rhythms in a fashion more in lock-step with a live band than a typical producer. Then Zebbler works with Encanti to articulate the sound visually, modeling 2D and 3D graphics around each note. They live up to the “Experience” in their name: it’s more than just calculated knob-twisting, or having a clean mix-down on wax. Blogging about them doesn’t even do it justice, but I’ll try my best!

Zebbler Encanti Experience just released a free track in promotion of their EOTO Time Illusion tour. It’s a remix of an upbeat, yet emotional vocal roller coaster titled “Conversations” by Boston-based band the Hole Punch Generation. Encanti works the same fervid leads into his interpretation, but completely re-works the rhythm to the tune of dubstep. His signature glitchy edits help the vocals syncopate gently around the rhythm, and the bassline has impact without being blatantly wobbly or, as critics abroad like to say, “American-sounding”. And Zebbler is no slouch behind the visuals either, bringing plenty of time-lapse footage to the fold with stunning city and skyscapes. Watch the video above, and grab the WAV file for free below.

The EOTO Time Illusion tour is actually making a stop at the House of Blues in Boston on February 9th. With a scant $5 price tag (yayyy…no TICKETMASTER!!) and several hundred people on the Facebook event planning on attending, it should be a good chance to check out what the “Experience” is really all about.
