Just a friendly reminder in case you want to go check out Deadmau5 & Melee tonight at Roxy- there are still tickets available, but are very limited! If you’re reading this, absolutely no introduction about Deadmau5 should be necessary. He was just ranked the #6 DJ in the world by DJ Mag, and has been pushing the use of utilizing Ableton Live as a performance tool in his sets, remixing bits and pieces of his own work on-the-fly making every set he plays unique. Get tickets here.

Beat Box: Making More With Less: Producing Music on a Tight Budget

Computers and software have been indespensable for the vast majority of producers and sound designers, both amateur and professional. As computers continue to get faster the limits of what you can accomplish on them with almost any Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) is only limited to your imagination. Beat Box: Leading (or Following) by Action- An Underrated Ableton Feature

One of the biggest benefits of working in session mode in Ableton Live is the ability to allow the computer itself to trigger the playback of different clips that are set up within an individual channel in a project. The use of lead and follow actions in Ableton actually seems to be a feature that many users overlook in this program

Awesome fundraising idea: Mongolian Mixtape Marathon

This is a pretty cool fundraising effort I found online today. Two British drivers are going to depart on a 10,000 mile voyage from London on July 11th 2009 across much of the eastern hemisphere, their destination being Mongolia. During the trip they are going to play mix cd's by any DJ who wants to participate (this means YOU!!), all you need to do is register on the site and pledge 1 UK pound or greater. Not only are you helping raise money for the Save The Children foundation and the Mongolian Charity Rally, but your mixes will also be hosted on their site for the next year, and there is no question that it will get a lot of traffic and get you a decent amount of exposure.

This is sponsored by Ableton, and if you pledge you will automatically be entered into a drawing to receive a free copy of Live 8!

For more info and instructions on how to register, check out their site here
