International bickering and chest pounding have led to a globally accepted movement for all armed nations to launch nuclear warheads at each other. In a rare display of unity, sworn enemies have been seen shaking hands and agreeing to the plan, photo-ops a plenty.
The buttons have now all been pressed and missiles are flying over the oceans as we speak. Soon every major city in the world will have its sky line overcast by a cloud of impending capsulated oblivion. The soldiers aren’t even fighting anymore. Tanks are unmanned in the streets, fighter jets parked in fields. They’ve all abandoned post to indulge in their last night on Earth.
And as the only local crew of nihilistic apocalypse fetishists, No Tomorrow is fully prepared to celebrate the imminent doomsday in proper fashion.
In the Main Room, we have carefully curated DJ talent to make you lose your shit while the world crumbles around you, with:
DJ STATIC (Ceremony, Sin-O-Matic) and MISTAKER (No Tomorrow, At Risk Youth)
And in the The 2012 Lounge, you can expect non-stop bacchanalia to the tunes of: BBP (blueboyproductions.net) DJ MELEE (Sturdy Recordings) DJ_PRESSPLAY (UnHeardUv.com, Funktion) $0 $0 GUTTER (Vermin Street)
No Tomorrow 21+ $5 before 11. $10 after Saturday, February 5th Machine Nightclub 1254 Boylston St Boston, MA 02215
As you may know, The XX are playing this afternoon at the Orpheum. (You may still be able to score tickets here if you want to go last minute). Jamie from the group will be joining a couple of colleagues and playing at the Middlesex later on tonight. I recommend getting over there early, this one will definitely fill up quick. If you don’t get in, you can always go across the street to catch LTJ Bukem, a long-standing DJ and producer who’s significance to drum and bass music needs no question.
Future Classic presents: Live from The U.K., LTJ BUKEM + MC CONRAD!

Thunderdome- the infamous Boston dance party that’s somehow managed to avoid the nightclubs for over three years now in favor of unconventional and “off-the-beaten-path” local venues- is back once again in its 19th incarnation. Recently relocated to the gorgeous, extremely spacious Villa Victoria Center for the Arts in Boston’s South End, we’re hosting our biggest guest to date and one of our favorite DJs of all time- Ivan Smagghe.
Smagghe, if you don’t already know, is a resident at the Fabric nightclub in London and at Rex Club in Paris, two of the world’s biggest hotspots for innovative and cutting-edge electronic music. You may also know him as one half of the seminal electroclash duo Black Strobe, who helped redefine the genre completely by incorporating industrial and post punk sounds into their house-driven aesthetic. Now, Smagghe spins dark, electro-tinged techno and will undoubtedly wreck the dancefloor at this month’s Thunderdome.
He will be supported by hometown heroes Soul Clap, who have recently been making causing quite a stir in the global techno scene and repping Boston to the fullest. Thunderdome XIX will be one of their only Boston appearances this summer before they temporarily relocate to Berlin, aka Techno Mecca, where they will undoubtedly be hailed as heroes. It’ll be a joyous occasion for Boston’s summer dance party scene which is feeling the loss of Soul Clap’s legendary “Dancing on the Charles” due to venue issues.
Resident DJ, Thunderome mastermind, and co-founder of the Together Electronic Music Festival, Mistaker, will be warming the party up right before our special guests take the stage. Visuals will be provided by Boston’s finest, Robot Kid, Matt Boch, and Sean.
Thunderdome is presented by Boston-based event-production group At Risk Youth, and tickets are available for only $15 if you RSVP to www.weareatriskyouth.com. Presale tickets are available through Brown Paper Ticketing you can find them here This will be a party for the ages, and our biggest Thunderdome to date!
The Basstown monthly return in the form of Visions and for November, we have one crazy-ass line-up. We can hardly believe how it came together ourselves.
DOWNSTAIRS
It’s the full international techno force of Caged Baby. This is a guy who closed the Ibiza super-party known as We Love Space. This is a guy name-checked by Pete Tong, a guy whoh has residencies as Pacha, Creamfields, Big Day Out (Australia) and spins the techno and house we love, albeit in a rapid-fire way that will make you cry.
SUPPORT FROM: Volvox and David Day
UPSTAIRS
From Montreal, Huggs is a favorite of Aoki, Cosmo Baker and Jokers of the Scene. When it comes to the electro that has taken over club-land, Huggs isn’t just an O.G., he’s an O.G. of O.G.s. Right in line with Boston favs Certified Bananas and Devlin and Darko. From the NYC cool of Dances With White Girls and Lauren Flax, he’s the real deal.
SUPPORT FROM: Red Foxxx and Mistaker
We don’t know how this talent configuration happened. And if we did, we probably wouldn’t tell you anyway. This sounds like some hype nonsense, but we’re not kidding or hyping this at all, this is a party the likes that these two floors have never seen.
And all for five bucks.
The best part? The beneficiary, the result, the end all be all, the whole reason this whole thing is going down is to make one person sweat like never before. And that person is
As shadows grow longer on city streets and the sun sets farther to the south, there is a spectre growing over the Boston skyline. The crisp air whispers a secret through baron trees; intended for curious wanderers who have the ears to listen. Yet the subtlety of moonlight will soon grow insufficient as the ground begins to rumble….
We have consulted the ancient calenders and all dates seem to point to 10/30/09. Though cryptic, all accounts focus on a cosmic fault-line situated directed below THE VILLA VICTORIA CENTER FOR THE ARTS in Boston’s South End.
Though the nature of this event is presently unclear, it’s title has been loosely translated from Amharic to:
THUNDERDOME XIV: HALLOWEEN.
Beyond that little is known. Cave-paintings in modern day Turkmenistan speak of a group of chieftains names RNDM & ROBOTKID who’s combined use of fire and drums captivated their people and elevated them to a secret land. Could this disturbance herald their return?
And this is barely scratching the surface. Prophesy speaks of a group of jester spirits who will come to lead pure hearts and minds astray. What is this mysterious <3THROB and what do they have in store? What of the half lizard/ half gibbon creature knows to West Africa’s Fulani tribe as MISTAKER? Or this LARA CALLAHAN? (who’s true name cannot be pronounced by the western larynx) Will her fabled artifact truly steal your soul?
We could go on speculating but it seems there is little to do but wait and see what happens. All we can say for sure is that something major is happening on October 30th and woe be unto those who fail to head it’s call.
AT RISK YOUTH PRESENTS THUNDERDOME XV: HALLOWEEN OCTOBER 30th
It’s been 10 long months but we’re back we think it’s worth the wait. FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 18th At our new BIGGER location in Boston’s South End Comes our most ambitious project to date:
THUNDERDOME XIV: THUNDERDOME 3D
||the concept||
We are creating 4 hours of 3D visuals and everyone who enters the party will be giving 3D glasses. We will be running multiple projectors throughout the room for a full 360 degree 3D experience. Your VJ’s for the night will be none other than ROBOTKID and MATT BOCH who will creating a brand new show to debut at Tdome. Did we mention there’s music too?
The night will feature the live debut of Thunderdude MicL PTVN’s new project #1 Dad and DJ Fred Mertz
It will also feature your resident Thunderdome DJs MISTAKER and BALTIMORODER along with our newest resident DEV/NULL
And since we wern’t sure if all this would fit in any of our past locations we are moving to the VILLA VICTORIA in the South End. We’re basically doubling the capacity from previous Tdomes and it’s only 10 minutes from our spiritual home in Cental Sq. With a huge balcony and a stage, this is our best venue yet.
In keeping with the theme Redbull is helping us put together a 3D PHOTOBOOTH with Zanazazzi. So hold on to your glasses as you’ll need them when the photos go up the follow week. Our title sponsor New Egg will be on hand to give out some free goodies and announce an exciting new project that’s in the works. And for those of you who enjoy drinking PBR will be providing complimentary drinks for the first hour so show up early!
Sadly the Villa closes at 2. And we hate sleeping so we’re basically taking all the Thunderdudes who couldn’t fit on the bill and moving the whole party 3 minutes down the street to the OFFICIAL AFTER PARTY AT RISE from 1-5:30 am. Come see Red Foxx, Dj Die Young, Morgan Louis, David Day and Mistaker on 2 floors till the sun comes up. We will be giving out special flyers at Thunderdome for $10 admission to Rise. 18+ bring the kiddies.
Respect due to Basstown for hosting their monthly Saturday parties at the Great Scott in Allston. They will be finishing up a chapter tonight and hosting their final event there via the freshest tech house, b-more club, and electro from residents David Day, Volvox, Die Young, and Mistaker. Cover is only $5!
