Damian Jacuk and Damian Strak go under two aliases, D-Unity and Elektroheadz.

Their D-Unity moniker is their progressive, tribal house side and Elektroheadz is their electro side, together their commonly known as Damian Jacuk & Strak.

These two hard-working Europeans have their own digital record label, Beat Therapy Records distributed world wide.

Their D-Unity tracks can be heard on their myspace/1dunity. Some D-Unity tracks include 'Warning', 'Cough Cough', 'Amhara' and 'God's House' to name a few. They have also done a remixes for artists such as, Noel, Daggard and Morane, DJ Rooster and Sammy Peralta and Boza. Elektroheadz tracks can also be heard on their myspace/elektroheadz. Elektroheadz releases include; 'Magic Pill', 'Whoop Whoop', 'Smack Attack' and 'My Lucky Number 6'.

All the releases from D-Unity and Elektroheadz have ended up on the top ten Juno best sellers list such as their album, 'Butterfly Time'. From this album their tracks, 'Head Shot' and 'No Sadness' hit number one on the DMC World Trance Chart. Some of their tracks have been picked up by such artists as, Kobbe, Martin Accoursi, Peter Presta, Richie Santana and their 'Only the Brave' picked up by DJ Irene.

Jacuk & Strak hit Top 10 bestsellers list on Juno Records and DJMR with both D-Unity and Elektroheadz several times.

After encountering personal obstacles which brought the Damians together they headed on the musical journey they're still embarking on. After months of hard work and determination Jacuk & Strak are stronger then ever. D-Unity and Elektroheadz started producing in 2001 and their skill, talent and sound are easily recognized by their fans.

With a unique resonance unlike the standard Canadian sound, Jacuk & Strak dare to go deep into the crevasse of the underground and deliver hard-edge bass driven beats with a side order of Iberican into their D-Unity mixes.

So Dope at Rise afterhours friday 7.24.09- B.Rich, Damien Paul, Die Young!

Another installment of Detox at Rise afterhours, hosted by the So Dope crew! This time around they're bringing in former Boston producer B.Rich, who is quickly becoming one of the biggest upcoming names in dance music in the northeast. He has been honing his skills as a producer and is currently very busy in the studio working with the likes of Udachi and AC Slater on basically any form of peak hour ass-shaking dance music that you can fathom. He will bring the heat tomorrow as he always does.

Check out the write-up I did on his recently released "Make Me Dance" EP here...and if you like that, you can also download a trackhe made called "We Ball Harder" that was an outtake from that EP; he's giving it away for free!

And here's his July '09 promo mix. It's all on here: house, electro, bassline, dubstep, garage, drum & bass, but screw the genre labels, it's really just one genre at the end of the day- good music.

Dirtybird/Claude Von Stroke, Tanner Ross & Soul Clap crew @ Rise, 6.26.09!

This is going to be an awesome event. I think most of you know who Claude VonStroke is by now, but in case you need a refresher, this guy is probably the most prolific house/tech house producer in the United States right now. He's the man behind Dirtybird Recordings, which is responsible for having a very distinct tech-funk-house sound. Dirtybird has only been in existence since 2005 and has already become a buy-on-sight label for many fans and dj's, something that can easily take 10+ years for many record labels to accomplish. Claude VonStroke's two most well known songs are probably The Whistler and Who's Afraid of Detroit, which are embedded in the videos below. (The Whistler video below is actually a video of him playing live in Boston 3 years ago!) He just released a Fabric Live mix cd; a testament to his success as a producer. And Dirtybird labelmate Tanner Ross is also playing, he's one of Boston's biggest producers at the moment! Check out his Airdrop podcast from a few months ago here. Also on tap in the lounge are Jay Prouty, Booster, Brent G, and Wheels/D-Lux. Going to be a great night for sure, check out the Rise site for more details! Respect to Soul Clap and Rise for making this happen.
