For those of you readers in the Boston music scene, you’re probably well aware the fifth annual Together Festival ended on a high note this past Sunday. As per usual I helped document the festival by taking photos of many of its different parties and daytime activities…from the pre-festival Hackathon at General Assembly right up until the minute Julio Bashmore unplugged his headphones at the closing party at the Sinclair on Sunday.
I can definitely attest to there being some awesome developments happening in our underground scene. In the past year, I’ve witnessed more up-and-coming producers getting their first chances to shine in the spotlight. I’ve watched a number of record labels sprouting up, focusing not only on putting out quality releases, but also carefully curating free tracks they discover online. I’ve watched more promoters taking chances on throwing after-hours parties, which are amongst the most vibrant I have ever attended. With this year’s theme being focused on communities, a lot of these things were discussed prominently during the week.
This year was definitely my most fun (and somehow least stressful) out of all the years I’ve been involved. Luckily I managed to stay on top of publishing the pictures throughout the week, of which there are almost 1,000 across the almost 40 I attended. You can check them out below.
